The Toddler Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) is an observation tool that focuses on the effectiveness of classroom interactions among children. Research confirms that daily interactions among teachers and children promote children’s social and cognitive development. Children thrive when teachers create nurturing, well-managed settings and provide frequent and engaging opportunities to learn. The Toddler CLASS describes two broad domains (Emotional and Behavioral Support and Engaged Support for Learning) of effective teacher-child interactions. Each session will provide in-depth conversations with video clips to view each domain.
Light dinner provided.
Presenters: Scarlet Welborn, Joy Johnson, Kristy Umfleet
Participants are required to attend both SESSION I and SESSION II.
