Reach Out and Read

Randolph County’s Reach Out and Read programs have been designated High-Quality by Reach Out and Read Carolinas.
Reach Out and Read is an early literacy program through which local pediatricians and healthcare providers who provide well-child check-ups “prescribe” books and family reading time. When you visit a participating doctor’s office, you will find a literacy-rich child’s waiting area filled with children’s books. At each well-child check-up between birth and age 5, your child will receive a free book to take home and you will learn how to incorporate time for reading together into your child’s daily routine.
Cost
The books are free at well-child check-ups.
Eligibility
Books are provided to children between the ages of birth and 5 at well-child check-ups only at participating doctors’ offices.
