The Basics Randolph
The Basics Randolph is our local The Basics™ community. It offers parents, early educators, pediatricians, and community organizations resources and support for nurturing brain development in babies from birth to age 3.
Why The Basics Randolph?
80% of brain growth happens by age 3. During this time, more than 1 million neural connections per second are being made in the baby’s brain. This is when critical foundations for cognitive skills associated with academic learning, as well as social and emotional skills are formed.
Parenting and caring for infants and toddlers is hard work. The Basics Randolph offers simple, proven ways all parents and caregivers can nurture relationships, early literacy and, most especially, brain development to ensure the best possible start in life.
What are The Basics?
1. Maximize love and manage stress
2. Talk, sing, and point
3. Count, group, and compare
4. Explore through movement and play
5. Read and discuss stories
