NC Pre-K

NC Pre-K ProgramThe North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten Program (NC Pre-K) is a preschool program for children who may otherwise not have access to the preschool experience. The part-day program provides preschoolers with curriculum-based, age-appropriate programming that enhances cognitive, social and emotional growth in preparation for elementary school.

COVID-19 UPDATE: We scheduled additional drive-through application drop-off events, during which staff will be able to receive your application and make copies of required documents as needed. Families must remain in their cars at all times and are encouraged to wear cloth face coverings/masks. Staff will practice social distancing, wear face coverings, and sanitize per recommended guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

APPLICATION DRIVE-THROUGH DROP-OFF: 4-6 p.m. on Tuesdays at Randolph Partnership for Children, 349 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, from July 14-August 11.

PHONE-IN APPLICATIONS: Noon-6 p.m. on Tuesdays by calling 336-629-2128 from July 14-August 11.

Completed applications may also be emailed with copies of required documents (as attachments) to info@randolphkids.org. Call 336-629-2128 ext. 10 or email info@randolphkids.org with questions.


This is a free program.


Your child must be 4 years old by August 31 and meet one of the following three criteria:

  • Family income is at or below 75% of the State Median Income (SMI)
  • Child diagnosed with a special need
  • Parent actively serving in the military and called to active duty within the past 18 months or who was seriously injured or killed while on active duty
