Are you familiar with North Carolina’s early learning standards? Introduction to Foundations for Early Learning and Development (NCFELD) is a comprehensive introductory course designed to help early childhood educators and childcare professionals understand and effectively implement North Carolina’s Early Learning and Development expectations in their classrooms and programs.

This course provides participants with a thorough introduction to Foundations — North Carolina’s framework for early learning and development — including how the expectations are structured, what they mean for children birth through five, and how to put them into practice in real early childhood settings. Understanding NCFELD is an essential component of high-quality early childhood education in North Carolina.

Participants will leave this training with the knowledge base necessary to embed early learning and development expectations into daily classroom planning and practice — supporting the whole child and ensuring that every learning opportunity is intentional, meaningful, and aligned with North Carolina’s standards for children from birth to age five.

This training is ideal for classroom teachers, childcare providers, family childcare home operators, preschool staff, and early childhood administrators who want to strengthen their understanding of NCFELD and enhance the quality of their programs.
