Language development and meaningful relationships go hand in hand in the early years. Nurturing Little Minds: Interactions and Language Development is an engaging course designed to help early childhood educators and infant and toddler caregivers understand and strengthen the powerful connection between responsive interactions and language growth in young children.
This course focuses on the types of interactions that enhance language and communication development in children from birth to age three — a critical window of opportunity when the foundations of language, literacy, and social-emotional development are being established. Participants will explore a variety of practical techniques and strategies for promoting meaningful, back-and-forth exchanges between adults and children that support language-rich learning environments.
A central theme of this course is the pivotal role that positive and responsive relationships play in nurturing essential early language skills. When children feel safe, seen, and heard, they are more likely to communicate, explore language, and develop the foundational skills they need to thrive. This course empowers caregivers and educators to be intentional and responsive in every interaction — from diaper changes and mealtimes to storytime and outdoor play.
Whether you work in an infant and toddler classroom, a family childcare home, or any other early childhood setting serving children birth to three, this course offers valuable insight and immediately applicable strategies to support language development every day.
