Reggio Emilia
The Reggio Emilia philosophy for early education, which was born in Reggio Emilia, Italy, is based on nine principals: Image of the Child, Role of the Environment, Emergent Curriculum, Project Work, Representational Development, Documentation, Teacher as Researcher, Collaboration, and Parent Involvement. Over the past decade, the influence of Reggio Emilia philosophy has taken root throughout child care centers and homes in Randolph County. To support early educators and centers implement Reggio Emilia-inspired environments and programming for early learning, the Partnership offers a variety of training opportunities based on Reggio Emilia philosophy. Contact hours and CEUs are offered based on the course content. Courses are offered on a regular basis throughout the year. Calendars are sent to child care providers on a quarterly basis.
