The Randolph County Department of Social Services (DSS), in partnership with Archdale Police Department, Asheboro Fire Department, Asheboro Police Department, City of Asheboro, Randolph County Emergency Services, Randolph County Public Health, Randolph Family Crisis Center/Emmy’s House Children's Advocacy Center, NC Guardian ad Litem Randolph County, Randolph County Sheriff's Office, NC, and Randolph Partnership for Children, will be hosting a Child Abuse Prevention Awareness "Walk" in downtown Asheboro on April 25, 2025 at Asheboro Recreation Center located at 148 North Street in Asheboro. Doors open at 10 am with our community partners hosting tables on site with information about their agencies and the services they provide. The event will begin with an opening ceremony at 10:30 am, followed by a mile walk that will focus on advocating for prevention, building community capacity, and raising awareness to prevent child abuse and neglect, strengthen families, and foster healthy children and youth. The walk also serves as an opportunity to bring the community together and collaborate by sharing information about each agency's services and efforts to prevent child abuse.
